Downtown Manhattan’s Crosby Street is the classic Soho thoroughfare, defined by classic cast-iron-and-firescape facades and some contemporary architectural gems—the latest, at number 42, by Annabelle Selldorf. Because we had designed the online presence for Ms. Selldorf, we were able to conceive of the market materials for her latest design—an exclusive residence of only some twenty units—as simply an understated supplement to the architect’s own website, available to invited visitors, almost as a glimpse behind the scenes. Working unusually closely with the project’s design team, we adapted in-house language for a sophisticated general audience, and developed animations that revealed the subtle play of reflection and light across the building’s restrained facade. In keeping with that elegant restraint in the building’s design, a single model of the project was housed at the brokerage’s president’s office, available for viewing by appointment only.
